Con McLoughlin has a diploma in Nutritional Threapy from the Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health and is a member of the Nutritional Therapists of Ireland (NTOI) and the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT). He has a background in science from UCD and as a chef for 30 years working in Belgium and subsequently in Ireland including the award winning Lettercollum House Restaurant in Timoleague. He now divides his time between the shop in Clonakilty, his Nutritional Therapy practice and, with his wife Karen Austin, running cooking classes and cooking holidays in France and Spain.

 

What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is a way of using food and supplements to encourage the body’s natural healing It is a complementary therapy, which means it can work alongside orthodox medicine. It recognizes that each individual has unique dietary and nutritional requirements.
The stress and pace of modern life encourages the consumption of foods that are of poor quality, depleted in nutrients and often heavily contaminated. Nutritional Therapy attempts to address these imbalances. Our health is inextricably linked to what we eat. Addressing the imbalances in our diet and encouraging a more positive lifestyle inevitably leads to a healthier body and mind.
